Mar 27 - Mathematical Mindsets: Unleashing Students’ Potential through Creative Math, Inspiring Messages, and Innovative Teaching by Jo Boaler

Participate with Novi Community School District Superintendent Dr. Steve Matthews in a parent book club. Read books that challenge, inspire, and help us as we work with our children and the students in our district. Engage with each other in meaningful conversations about the challenges of raising successful children and building successful schools. Open to 35 participants. At registration, a copy of the current book will be provided. Registration is required for each book discussion and can be done through the Library’s first floor Information Desk.

This series of free family concerts are informal, friendly and fun. Sponsored by the Friends of the Novi Library. The Harp/Flute Duet have performed in such venues as the Max Fisher Orchestra Hall, Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and more. Their dynamic classical concerts include masterworks of the past as well as contemporary composition. The DSO Strings Trio have performed in concerts around the world. From the Shanghai Conservatory, Kennedy Center, Syracuse Symphony, and much more.

Scrapbook For a Cause

Cook With an Area Restaurant Series

Ever want to cook with added flavor, and a little bit of soul? Join “Beans & Cornbread Soulful Bistro” as they share tips and recipes in an interactive cooking demonstration that will spice up your everyday meals. Also, join us as we make delectable crepes of many varieties. The Crepe Station will share the technique to making your crepes look and taste like they came from a professional. Samples included at both!

Building Self-Esteem in Your Child with Autism

On the Road Bus Trip to Chelsea

Friday, April 28

Back by popular demand…Join us for our ON THE ROAD trip offering a day of culture, history and fun. We will be traveling in a deluxe motor coach to Chelsea, Michigan for a tour of the Jiffy Mix factory, with coffee, tea, and of course muffins. This will be followed by a tour and sampling at the Alehouse Brewery. We will then enjoy a delicious full course meal at The Common Grill. Our day will end with a step-on guided tour of the historical sites of downtown Chelsea, provided by the Chelsea Chamber of Commerce tour guide. We may stop by a few shops if we want a little more fun! We will also raffle a special gift that you’re sure to enjoy! The cost of the trip is $89, and space is limited.
