The Friends of the Novi Public Library is a dynamic group of individuals dedicated to supporting the Novi Public Library. Almost 575 members strong, the Friends assist the library through fundraising activities, volunteer work, and public presentations. |

Book Sale Fundraiser
In recent years, the Friends' fundraising activities have raised over $14,000 for the library. The Friends' major fundraiser is the library's ongoing used book sale, located in the library's meeting room.Proceeds from Friends' fundraising events have been used to purchase furniture and computer equipment, as well as to support our summer reading program for children. The Friends also sponsor a scholarship for graduating seniors at Novi High School. Book sale prices effective August 20, 2007.

The Friends of the Novi Public Library sponsors an ongoing series of special programs. These unique, entertaining presentations feature something for everyone! All programs are free. "On the Road: The Changing Character of Rural America"
- Thursday, January 22, 2009 7-8:45 p.m.
- Popular lecturer, author and oral historian Glenn Ruggles, returns with stories drawn from small towns and rural communities along one well-traveled Oakland County Road. Ruggles shares what he learned - the notable, quirky and humorous - as told to him by those he met "on the road."
"Camera? Crew? Why Not You?"
- Tuesday, February 24, 2009 7-8:45 p.m.
- Do you find yourself clicking through the channels and not seeing what you want on television? Put down your remote and go behind the cameras with award-winning producers Brian Golden and Katherine Georgas from SWOCC Studios. Participate in the creative side of public access television! Learn how to take your own ideas from inspiration to finished production.
"Hidden Stories"
- Tuesday, March 24, 2009 7-8:45 p.m.
- Ann Johnson, from the Detroit Institute of Arts, will show a new perspective on familiar works from the collections of the DIA. Uncover the clues hidden in the artworks themselves that reveal stories about the pieces and the artists who created them.
"The Saline Fiddlers: A Community Friend-raising Concert"
- Sunday, May 3, 2009 3 p.m. at the Novi Middle School Auditorium
- From the West coast to the White House, the toe-tapping, hand-clapping music of the Saline Fiddlers has wowed audiences of all ages! The music - a fusion of folk, bluegrass, and western swing seasoned with a dash of Celtic flair - is presented in a high-energy performance with thirty musicians, dancers and singers on stage delivering a thoroughly engaging and totally entertaining program of family favorites.
- Tickets cost $5 each or 5 tickets for $20.
