Materials in the library include books, magazines, newspapers, music CDs, entertainment and non-fiction videos and DVDs, audio books, income tax forms, career guides, college catalogs and local history materials. Search our Library Catalog for listings.

computers & guidelines for their use

Adult Computers: Internet access, Microsoft Student 2006 including Encarta, Office software (Excel, FrontPage, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Word) and CD burning software. Headphones are available for use.

You must have a valid library card and PIN. SAM is the software that allows you to login to our computers.
The session time limit is one hour and users are limited to three hours per day.
Users must follow our Internet Acceptable Use Policy.
Adult internet computers are for users in 9th grade or higher.
No cell phone conversations at the Internet computers – please turn your phone off or put it on vibrate.
Printing from the computers in black & white costs 10 cents per page and color costs 50 cents per page payable at the Information Desk.
You may download information from the Internet or save created files to a CD, to your USB device, or temporarily to the desktop (My Documents folder). The Circulation Desk sells burnable CDs for $1.00 and 1GB flashdrives for $10.00.
We do have some Express Internet stations with a 15-minute time limit for visitor access.

Creation Station: Microfilm reader, internet access, Microsoft Student 2006 including Encarta, Office software (Excel, FrontPage, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Word) and CD burning software. Flatbed scanner capable of scanning photos, negatives or text. Photo-quality printer with digital camera memory reader to print photos. Photo-quality paper (4" x 6") available for purchase at the Information Desk.

adaptive technology for specialized needs

The library has a book drop in the front exterior of the building. Patrons are encouraged to use the book drop to prevent overdue fines.

The library has a large meeting room available for groups up to 100 people. A completed, signed application must be approved by library staff before the reservation can be confirmed. The application may be faxed to the Novi Public Library, Attention: Margi Karp-Opperer, at 248-349-6520 or returned to the Library at the above address. Please call the Library for availability.

We have a display case available for individuals (children, too!) and groups to display collections. Call the Library to make reservations.
