Genealogy – Where Do I Begin?

Strong Moms Strong Girls

A community service program of the Junior League of Ann Arbor, developed in collaboration with the University of Michigan Center for Child and Family. Through this workshop, mothers/female caregivers and daughters will learn together skills that promote healthier peer interactions among girls including the impact of culture and media in influencing definitions of femininity, how girls can both commit and be the targets of relational aggression, how to build respectful communication behaviors, and how to become an ally to the women around you.

Pre-Employment Skills Training for Adults with Autism

Come learn about a training program that teaches the interpersonal skills of how to get and keep a job to people with autism and other challenges! This 90 minute informational session will introduce you to the Oakland University Center for Autism Outreach Service (OUCARES). Presenters will provide basic information on the variety of programs available to those families impacted by autism while placing an emphasis on the Pre-Employment Skills Training for adults ages 18 and older.  The Pre-Employment Skills Training is designed to assist adults high on the spectrum by providing them training in the “Soft” interpersonal skills necessary to obtain and maintain employment.  Scholarship information will also be provided.

Novi Public Library’s Camera Club

Jim Farkas with more than 45 years of photographic experience has been conducting digital photography workshops for the past three years.  This advanced photography camera club will meet once a month at the Library to discuss photographic techniques and critique member’s photography as well as plan outside location photo shoots during the month.  If you are looking to pick up your camera and engage the creative side of your brain, then this is the camera club for you!
