Welcome back to NPL! We hope you had a great summer!
To ensure everyone has a pleasant experience at NPL, please be aware of the following guidelines.
Parking at NPL is for Library Patrons
Students and faculty must park in designated school lots. DO NOT PARK in the library lot.
Do not use NPL's parking lot as a pick-up location after school. If your student is using the library, find an available parking spot to wait for your student to exit the library. Avoid parking in front of the main doors, in emergency and accessible spaces. There are six quick 10 minute spots available.
Busy Times at NPL - 2:30-5pm
The busiest time to visit NPL is Monday-Friday, from 2:30-5pm. While this may be a convenient time for some, it can also be more crowded and noisier than usual. By visiting during non-busy hours, you can enjoy a more peaceful and productive experience.
Teen Space - After School Program
Teen Space is held in the Library’s large meeting room on Monday-Thursday from 2:45-5pm on regular school days. Check the library calendar for dates Teen Space may be closed. Teen Space is open to students in grades 7-12. Proof of student status is required. Come hang out with friends, play games, do homework, and have fun after school in Teen Space!
Teen Lounge on 2nd Floor - Grades 7-12
Our Teen Lounge is the perfect space for students to study and work in small groups. The Teen Lounge room capacity is currently 35 students. Adults are welcome to accompany students in this space, if needed.
Unattended Children
Parents, guardians or caregivers of children under the age of seven must be responsible for maintaining visual contact with and be in the presence of their child at all times. Library staff have observed small children wandering close to the building's front doors without a caregiver present. This poses a safety risk as the driveway is very busy.
Review our Unattended Child policy.
Study Rooms & Spaces
NPL offers many rooms and open spaces for working, studying, reading and socializing. NPL has study rooms on both floors. The rooms are first-come, first-served.
In addition to the single user booth on the 2nd floor, check out our newest one on the 1st floor! Additional tables are available throughout the building. Please note that some areas are designed with particular age groups in mind.
Rentable Meeting Rooms
Our smallest room starts at $15 per hour for residents over 18 years of age. Please note that no meeting rooms are available for patron use without a paid meeting room rental.
Get more info and check meeting room availability.
Food in the Library
Food deliveries cannot be accepted within 100 feet of the main library doors or in designated emergency and accessible parking areas. Staff will not accept food items from delivery sources
